Baker's Story

As a teenager, I was what adults called 'a good kid'. I didn't drink, smoke, have sex, do drugs, etc. Yet still, I didn't feel accepted by God. On good weeks, I'd feel good; on bad weeks I'd be miserable - as if I'd lost my acceptance.

Then, through a series of events in college, I met God in Jesus Christ. I went from knowing about God, to knowing him personally. I found out that my acceptance with God has nothing to do with my efforts or even success at being 'good', but has everything to do with what Jesus accomplished by dying on the cross. My fears and insecurity were replaced by the freedom and joy that comes from being unconditionally and extravagantly loved by God.
