Brandon's Story
Growing up I always felt like I was missing something. I felt like there was more to life but didn't know what it was. It was like there was a hole in my life and I tried to fill that hole with lots of things; cars, alcohol, girls, career, but nothing ever gave me long lasting satisfaction. In fact, the more I tried to fill this emptiness in my life the more despair I felt.
After a terrible car accident when I was in my 20's I lost everything, my fiancée , my career, my car, and even people who I called friends were all gone. Things got much worse in my life 'til I felt like life was useless and had no meaning. In my despair I remember hearing my mom telling me bed time stories and she always ended by saying, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." At that moment I understood the only thing that could bring me peace and purpose is God.
Since then my life has meaning and I feel at peace and even though there are times when I feel discouraged I just say those words,"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." and I feel better.
